Connect Me Too® – Cookie Policy

We use cookies to make our website easier and more intuitive to use. The data collected through cookies helps improve the browsing experience, making it more enjoyable and more efficient in the future.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files sent by a website to the user's device (typically to their browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same site during the user's next visit. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user's hard disk, transmit viruses or capture e-mail addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user's web browser. Some cookie functions may be carried out by other technologies. In this document the term "cookie" refers both to cookies in the strict sense and to all similar technologies.

Types of cookies

Cookies can be first-party or third-party, where "first-party" refers to cookies that have the website's domain, and "third-party" refers to cookies that are associated with external domains.

Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external entity, always referred to as a "third party", and are not managed by the website. These entities may also install first-party cookies by storing their own cookies on the website's domain.

Nature of cookies

With regard to the nature of cookies, there are different types:

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are those used solely for the purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary to provide an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user" (see Art. 122(1) of the Italian Privacy Code).

These cookies are not used for any additional purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator. They may be categorised as follows:

The installation of these cookies does not require the users' prior consent.

Profiling cookies

Profiling cookies are used to create user profiles and are aimed at delivering advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user during online browsing. These technologies do not collect users' names, email addresses, phone numbers or physical addresses.

The use of profiling cookies requires the data subject's consent. In accordance with regulatory guidance, users may authorise or deny consent to the installation of cookies via the options provided below.

In the case of third-party cookies, the website does not have direct control over the individual cookies and cannot manage them (it cannot install or delete them directly). You can still manage these cookies through your browser settings (see the instructions below), or by requesting opt-out directly from the third parties or at http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices.

For more information about cookies and privacy, you can consult the documentation available on the website of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) at: www.garanteprivacy.it

Disabling Cookies

Cookies are linked to the browser used and CAN BE DISABLED DIRECTLY THROUGH THE BROWSER, thus refusing or withdrawing consent to their use. Please note that disabling cookies may prevent some functions of the website itself from working properly. Instructions for disabling cookies can be found at the following web pages:

Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies are used to provide additional services and features to visitors and to enhance the website's usability, e.g. social media buttons or videos. This website has no control over third-party cookies, which are entirely managed by the respective third parties. As a result, information regarding the use of such cookies, their purposes, and how to disable them is provided directly by the third parties on the pages indicated below.

Please note that third-party tracking generally does not lead to user identification, unless the user is already registered with the service and logged in. In such cases it is understood that the user has already given their consent directly to the third party at the time of registering for that service (e.g. Facebook or YouTube).

(No third-party cookies are currently installed on this website. This section will be updated if third-party services are implemented in the future)

Transfer of data to non-EU countries

This website may share some of the data collected with services located outside the European Union. In particular with Google and YouTube services.

Such transfers are authorised based on the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission, which ensure an adequate level of protection for personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). SCCs are legally recognised mechanisms for the transfer of personal data to third countries in the absence of an adequacy decision by the European Commission.

The above-mentioned companies guarantee their adherence to the security measures and safeguards required by the SCCs for the protection of transferred personal data.

Security measures

This website processes user data lawfully and fairly, adopting appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of data. Processing is carried out using IT and/or electronic tools, with organisational methods and logic strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to the controller, in some cases, access to the data may also be granted to categories of individuals involved in the operation of the website (administrative, commercial, marketing or legal staff, and system administrators), or to external parties (such as third-party technical service providers, postal couriers, hosting providers, IT companies, or communications agencies).

User rights

Pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable national legislation, the user is entitled, under the procedures and within the limits established by current law, to exercise the following rights:

Requests must be addressed to the Data Controller. Where data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest, the data subject's rights are still guaranteed (except for the right to data portability, which is not applicable in this case), in particular the right to object to the processing, which may be exercised by submitting a request to the data controller.

The data processor is identified as the data controller, together with the web hosting provider appointed as joint processor exclusively in relation to the services it provides, processing the data on behalf of the data controller.
