Connect Me Too® – Terms and Conditions of Use
1. Introduction
Welcome to Connect Me Too®, the sports audio description app provided by CMT S.r.l. (a company with registered office in Via Bartolomeo d'Alviano 18, 20146 Milan, Italy, VAT no. IT09760300153). The use of the Connect Me Too® app is governed by these Terms and Conditions of Use (hereinafter "Terms" or "Conditions"). By downloading, installing or using the app, the user declares that they have read and fully accepted these Terms and agree to comply with them.
CMT S.r.l. reserves the right to amend or update these Terms periodically. Any changes will be communicated to users through the appropriate channels (e.g. via in-app notifications or when the next available update is released). In the event of significant changes, we will ask the user to review the new Terms. Continued use of the app after notification of such changes shall constitute acceptance of the updated Terms.
Note for underage users: the service is designed for users of all ages. However, if you are under 18, please ensure that you have the permission of a parent or guardian to use the app. In any case, users under the age of 14 cannot register independently (in accordance with Italian regulations on the digital data protection of minors). If you are under 14, the holder of parental responsibility must provide consent for your registration. By proceeding with registration, the user implicitly declares that they are at least 14 years old or, if under the age of 14, that the registration is being completed with the assistance and consent of a parent or guardian.
2. Service Description
Connect Me Too® is an innovative platform designed to stream real-time audio descriptions of live events. The service is primarily intended for individuals who are blind, partially sighted or have other visual impairments, enabling them to follow sports events through detailed and accessible audio commentary.
The service operates through partnerships with organisations (e.g. Sports clubs, associations, theatres) that join the platform by subscribing with CMT S.r.l. These organisers authorise the audio stream of matches or events and distribute a unique access code to their users or members. CMT S.r.l. acts as a technical intermediary: on the one hand, it provides organisers with a tool to stream audio descriptions to their blind or partially sighted users, and on the other, it offers end users an easy-to-use app, compatible with assistive technologies, through which they can access the service.
In summary, through Connect Me Too® the user can:
- Select the type of event, a sub-category for further filtering (e.g. championship, tournament, theatre circuit) and the relevant organiser (e.g. favourite sports team or club, theatre).
- Enter the unique code provided by the organiser (or by an association for blind people to which the user belongs) in order to authenticate themselves as entitled to access that organisation's events.
- Access the list of available events (matches or other events) for the chosen organiser and listen to the corresponding audio description in real time during the live broadcast.
The audio description service is provided via audio streaming. This means the user listens to the real-time commentary through the app, synchronised with the event. The commentary is enhanced with appropriate terminology and additional descriptions to compensate for the absence of visual information. No audio content is stored on the user's device or made available for playback after the live stream ends.
Currently, Connect Me Too® does not send automatic notifications to alert the user of upcoming events. It is the user's responsibility to check the app and consult the calendar of events made available by their chosen organiser.
3. Registration and Access Codes
To use the services provided by Connect Me Too®, user's must first create a personal account via the app. Registration requires the user to provide their real (non-fictitious) personal details: first name, surname and a valid email address. Upon completing the sign-up process, the system will automatically send a confirmation code to the email address provided. This code must be entered in the app to verify the address and activate the account. This mechanism ensures that the email address is actually controlled by the user and prevents unauthorised registrations.
Once the account has been created, the user will be able to log in to the app and browse through the available sub-menus to select their preferred organiser. To access specific events hosted by a given Organiser, the user must obtain a unique access code issued by that Organiser.
Single account, multiple organisers: the user's Connect Me Too® account is personal and unique. It is possible, with a single account, to request and enter access codes for different organisers (e.g. to follow more than one team or sport), provided the user is entitled to receive such codes.
The user agrees to carefully protect their login credentials (email and password set during registration) and the unique codes received from organisers. These codes are personal and non-transferable: their sharing with others or posting in publicly accessible spaces (e.g. social networks, forums, etc.) is strictly prohibited and may result in the consequences established for misuse.
